When
is the State Income Tax due?
Returns have to be postmarked by May 1.

I owe tax, to whom should the check be made payable?
Checks should be made payable to Wise County Treasurer
and mailed with your return to the Commissioner
of Revenue.

their state tax return?
If you provide a complete copy of your Federal Tax Return
and copies of your W-2's the office will assist you.

How
old does my puppy have to be to buy a dog tag for him?
When a puppy is four (4) months old, it is required
to have a dog license.
What
does a dog license cost?
A one (1) year dog license is $5.00, a three (3) year
is $12.00. A kennel of twenty (20) is $25.00, plus $0.50 for each dog in excess of twenty (20). The price is
the same for male or female and neutered or unneutered.
What
do I need to get a dog license?
You must present a certificate of vaccination, properly
executed and signed by the licensed veterinarian performing
the vaccination, specifying the date of the vaccination,
and the date required for revaccination.

Vehicle Decals
When
may I purchase my Wise County decal?
You may purchase your Wise County decal(s) at the same time
you pay your current personal property taxes either at the
Treasurer's office or by mail.
What
is required to purchase a decal?
(1) Personal property and mobile home taxes must be
paid.
(2) Current registration or copy must be presented.
(3) Social security number(s) or federal ID of owners(s).
What
if I am a town resident?
(1) Personal property and mobile home taxes must be paid.
(2) Current registration or copy must be presented.
(3) Social security number(s) or federal ID of owners(s).
(4) Town residents purchasing decals at Treasurer's office
must have receipt of purchasing current town decal.
What
should I do when purchasing a new or used vehicle?
After you purchase your regular tags or transfer tags,
you should purchase your decal. If you are transferring
tags from one vehicle to another and have a county decal
on that vehicle, return the old decal along with the current
registration and social security number(s) of owner(s) for
a duplicate decal along with a $1.00 charge. If not
returning the old decal, you will need to purchase another
decal for $5.00.
If
my decal is lost or stolen, what do I do?
You will need to bring your current registration for the
vehicle that the decal was lost or stolen. An Affidavit
for Lost or Stolen Decals will then be filled out with information
on that vehicle along with a $1.00 charge. A notary
will then notarize the letter after you and the issuing
deputy have signed and verified the information. You will
then keep that paper in your car at all times and present
to an officer when you are stopped.
