AGENDA
Chairman Kilgore asked the Board to review the agenda with the noted additions for consideration at the next meeting.
ROADS AND HIGHWAYS
Supervisor Rivers noted that the lime green vests that are worn by the crews working on the road blends in with the summer vegetation. He suggested contacting the local departments that may have these workers on the road that wear this color vests and bring it to their attention that a different color would perhaps be more noticeable by the public and prevent a hazardous situation.
Supervisor Rivers stated that just beyond the intersection close to Union High School on State Rt. 23, there is a yield sign on the right side of the road that is confusing as to which lane yields. He asked that VDOT be contacted to ascertain if that is the right place for the sign.
Supervisor Robbins asked that VDOT review the cross walk at UVA-Wise to make it more safe.
Supervisor Shortt explained that this cross walk has been reviewed by the Safety Engineers from Bristol and VDOT in Wise, which included a speed study. The cross walk was built according to VDOT specks.

Allen Boynton, representing Game & Inland Fisheries, addressed the Board with a power point presentation on bear management and how citizens can discourage bears from coming around their homes and being a nuisance. He said he is willing to work with the County to find a solution to the bear problem here in Wise County.
Supervisor Robbins asked that Mr. Boynton come back at a later date to address the coyote and beaver problems that many citizens are experiencing.
