The Wise County Board of Supervisors met in a Recessed meeting on January 18, 2000, at 6:00 p.m. in  Circuit Court room located in the Wise County courthouse.  The following were present:

Honorable Betty Cornett

Honorable Douglas Mullins

Honorable Donnie Dowell

Honorable Douglas Stallard

Honorable Jeffrey Salyers - members of said Board and

Shannon C. Scott- Acting County Administrator

Karen Mullins-County Attorney

Annette Underwood-Executive Secretary

ABSENT

Honorable Edgar Mullins

Chairman Adkins stated that the purpose of this meeting is to go into closed session to conduct interviews for the position of  County Administrator.  He asked for a motion to go into closed session.

IN RE:  CLOSED SESSION

A motion was made by Douglas Mullins, seconded by Doug Stallard, to go into closed session to conduct interviews for the position of County Administrator as permitted by section 2.1-344A.1 of the Code of Virginia.  The motion was unanimously approved.

Doug Stallard asked that Shannon Scott, Annette Underwood, and Attorney Karen Mullins be excused from the closed session.

After a lengthy closed session, a motion was made by Virginia Meador, seconded by Betty Cornett, to reconvene the meeting.  The motion was unanimously approved.

IN RE:  RESOLUTION - CLOSED SESSION

A motion was made by Doug Stallard, seconded by Jeffrey Salyers, to approve the resolution verifying matters discussed while in closed session.  The motion was unanimously approved by roll call vote.
