Prepare your phones for emergencies – Phone usage tips during and after disasters
The Wise County Board of Supervisors will hold their next Regular Meeting on Thu., Feb. 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the 1st Floor J&DR Court / Board Meeting Room (Room 141) of the Wise County Courthouse in Wise, VA.
The Wise County Planning Commission's next meeting will be Mon., Feb. 13, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor County Administrator's Conference Room (Room 223) of the Wise County Courthouse in Wise, VA.
"WARNER on your CORNER" – Wed., Feb. 15, 2012 – Representatives from Senator Mark Warner's office will be available to discuss specific issues individual Virginians have dealing with federal agencies. TIME: 10AM – Noon

The Wise County Industrial Development Authority's (IDA) next meeting will be Tue., Feb. 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the 2nd Floor County Administrator's Conference Room (Room 223) of the Wise County Courthouse in Wise, VA.

Rural Homeowners May Qualify for Repair Loans and Grants
A rural homeowner whose home needs repairs may be eligible for a loan and/or grant from Rural Development. The agency provides assistance to people who may not need or cannot afford a new house, but may require work done on their present house to bring it up to minimum standards, or to remove health or safety hazards from the dwelling. Grants are made only to very low-income elderly homeowners, 62 year or older. For more details on this program, see the Home Improvements Loans and Grants brochure .
Free classes and seminars are being offered by the Wise County Emergency Operations Center for disaster preparedness and the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT).
